Each stage of life comes with its own set of challenges. Perhaps the most ignored stage of life is ages 60+. I can’t say that I’ve been there, but I can imagine that it can be a struggle to accept your age and be confident in who you are. The chicken soup for the soul books are well known for their ability to help people through tough times and changes in life, and help provide a new perspective through inspiring you with other peoples stories. Chicken soup for the soul: inspiration for the young at heart is a book dedicated to people “of a certain age”. There are 101 stories total, which are broken into several groups. The groups include New Adventures, Turning the Clock Back, Never Too Late For Romance, New Careers, When a Husband Retires, The Privileges Of Age, New Passions, Who Are You Calling Old, and Go For it. From the handful of stories that I read out of this book, it does a nice job of focusing on living in the present and accomplishing your goals. I love the idea that you’re never too old to try something new, to learn or to accomplish a goal that you didn’t take the time out to do when you were younger.

Hi there! I am Emily Evert, the owner of Emily Reviews. I am 28 and live in a small town in Michigan with my boyfriend Ryan and our two pugs. I have a large family and I adore my nieces and nephews. I love reading memoirs, and learning about child development and psychology. I love watching The Game of Thrones, Teen Mom, Sister Wives and Veep. I like listening to Jason Isbell, John Prine, and other alt-country or Americana music. I created Emily Reviews as a creative outlet to share my life and the products that I love with others.
