amy's vegetable barley soupYou might remember a few weeks ago when I did an amy’s frozen pizza review. It was super yummy, by the way. I had been sent free product coupons to use for review, but my local grocery stores didn’t carry amy’s soups, so I was only able to try the pizza. Amy’s was super generous and sent me some soups to try out, seems how I couldn’t find them in store. I selected two soups for myself and one for Ryan to try. I went with the vegetable barley and lentil soups for myself and the thai coconut for Ryan. Amy’s food products are vegetarian, which Ryan and I aren’t currently used to eating vegetarian foods but have considered it. I’ll be honest and admit that while I like common veggies like green beans, peas, carrots, potatoes, corn, etc, I’m not very familiar with most other veggies. So when I was reading the soup descriptions almost all of them included foods that I hadn’t tried before such as leeks, zucini, etc. So I wasn’t sure if I wound like the soups based on the items in them that I hadn’t tried. I wound up really loving the vegetable barley soup. It was filling but still a light on the belly type of meal that made for a quick, yummy soup that would be great to heat you up in the winter time. I wasn’t a fan of the lentil soup, but that could have been caused by the ingredients in it that I wasn’t familiar with. However, I enjoyed the vegetable barley soup so much that I’d definitely be willing to check out other varieties of amy’s soups if they were to become available in my local grocery stores. Ryan enjoyed the soup we got for him as well, as he is a big fan of most anything coconut flavored. We will definitely be keeping Amy’s in mind if we take the plunge and go vegetarian.

Amy’s products can be found at meijer, ralph’s, safeway, vons, wholefoods and others.
