We’ve owned six or eight fans in the last few years since I’ve been living on my own, and the SPT SF-1515W Indoor Misting Fan is my favorite of all of them. It’s actually a fan and humidifier in 1. It has a unique appearance to it, in that it has a wide but thin body that can easily be lined up next to a piece of furniture and barely take up any room.
It has 3 speeds, which are adjustable with a single speed button. There are also on, off, wind, swing, timer and mist buttons. The timer allows the fan to be left on but programmed to turn off up to 9 hours into the future. To set the timer, you simply push the timer button 1 time to have it shut off in 1 hour, twice to have it shut off in 2 hours, etc. The display screen lets you know how many hours the timer is currently set to which is really nice, so you don’t have to keep track in your head. In fact, the display screen is probably my favorite feature.
The screen is LED and gives so much more information about the current settings of the fan than a typical fan lets you know. For example, I like how you can have the fan on the third speed and the screen tels you that its on speed 3. Then if you hit the off button, and turn the fan back on, it’s still in the third speed. Other fans, because they don’t have a screen like this, will always start back from the lowest speed. The screen also lights up with words and symbols that let you know if the fan is in sleep, “wind”/natural mode, swing or mist modes.
The fan has a “peek through” plastic area on the bottom in front that allows you to see how much water is currently being stored inside of the fan. When the fan is on mist mode, the area lights up in blue to allow you to see easier. If the water gets low, you unscrew a panel in the back and lift out the container which you can carry to your sink to refill. While I wish that you didn’t have to find a screwdriver to refill the water compartment, I love that the container is able to be completely removed from the fan for easy refill, instead of forcing you to bring water to the fan one cup at a time.
The fan has internal blades, of course. But the external portion of the fan is a separate, plastic grill that when you push the “swing” button it rotates in the opposite direction of the blades, which “chops” the air in more ways than a typical fan.
Instead of being just a fan, it’s also a humidifier. You can use the humidifier without having the fan on, making it suitable for use even during the winter months. Or, you can opt to use the humidifier and the fan at the same time. The swing
We haven’t put them on, but it comes with wheels so that you can easily push the fan around. The fan also comes with a small remote control that takes 2 AAA batteries. The remote has the same buttons as the fan itself so you can control all of the functions from the remote.

Wow, this is awesome! So many different features for a fan – I would love to have a fan like this!
Now this is really cool. I would LOVE to have one for my house for the summer.
