If your loved ones don’t live near you, it can be a pain to find lightweight items to ship to them during birthdays, holidays or other gift giving occasions that don’t cost an arm and a leg to ship. I’m the type of person who tends to do everything last minute, so if I need to have something arriving in the mail by a certain date, I’m usually really pushing the limit on whether or not the package or letter will arrive before the right date.
CashStar is an online website that allows you to send gift cards to your loved ones electronically. With over 40 businesses to choose from, you’ll likely find the perfect gift card for the special person in your life. I recently was able to try out the process by buying a CVS gift card through CashStar. You can quickly select from $25, $50, $100 or $150 gift card values or you can type in your own value as long as it is between $5 and $150. You can also customize the appearance of the card.
They even have a feature that allows you to select which date you’d like the gift card to be emailed to the recipient on. I love this because it allows you to purchase gifts for birthdays and holidays well in advance and then you can just forget about it and feel secure that your gift card will arrive on the perfect date. Alternatively, you can also select to have the gift card arrive on the date of purchase if you’re wanting to use it soon.
I sent myself a $10 CVS gift card but for the purposes of showing it to you all, I customized it to be sent to “Emily Reviews reader” and for the personal note I wrote “By shopping at cashstar.com, you can purchase gift cards online and have them sent to your loved ones electronically!”
Once the gift card arrives in the recipients email inbox, they will be able to use the code to make a purchase online, or they can print the gift card off and take it into a brick and mortar store to use in person. Here is what my email looked like:
When you click to view your gift card you enter your email address and then you see the entire customized message that the sender provided when they purchased the card.
