Shopping for the best car insurance policy for your household can be stressful. In some ways, we drive less than other people as we both work from home so we don’t have the daily commute to work to worry about. However, we live in a rural area so we have to drive further than other people to get to the grocery store or go out to dinner. While driving, we see lots of this:

We also only have one vehicle so instead of our mileage being broken up between two cars, our one car gets it all. We are very safe drivers though as neither of us speed (okay, unless we’re REALLY late). Because of our low mileage and safe driving, we aren’t sure that we really deserve to pay as much in insurance costs as people who are always on the road and drive recklessly.

Progressive is offering the snapshop test drive program to let people see if they qualify for any discounts. The snapshot device is used in our car and can tell if you turn to quickly or do other similar acts that are deemed dangerous. If you drive safe enough while the device is plugged in, you might qualify for a safe driver discount. You could be eligible to save up to 30%.

I like the progressive commercials with Flo because she’s so intense. To celebrate the snapshop test drive program, we’re going to giveaway a flo prize package (pictured below).
