I love to read, but I don’t always have the time. I love Chicken Soup for the Soul books for this reason. I know that the stories are going to be heartfelt and the books are just so easy to read. This to me, is a good thing. The Chicken Soup for the Soul series was created by Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield.
Chicken Soup for the Soul: Hope & Healing for Your Breast Cancer Journey by Dr. Julie Silver of Harvard Medical School has some great information to offer to those who are battling breast cancer. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, this book has come at a good time. I only have one family member who has ever faced the battle of breast cancer. I’m not that close to her so I never really talked to her about it, however, when I heard the news it broke my heart. I just never thought that anyone in my family would go through something like this. As I read this heartwarming book, it made me think about what my Aunt went through from dealing with the dreaded diagnosis, to finding a medical team, to dealing with family and friends. Dr. Julie Silver has laid this book out very nicely with every step that a breast cancer patient goes through. The stories that are intertwined with each chapter are so amazing. As human beings we all think that we are strong, but I realized while reading Chicken Soup for the Soul: Hope & Healing for Your Breast Cancer Journey that those who have battled and currently battle breast cancer are so much stronger then I have ever been. I can only hope to be as confident and brave as these women if I or any of my immediate family ever faces this diagnosis.
If you are looking for comfort with your journey through breast cancer, if you need help understanding the breast cancer journey or if know someone who does I highly recommend picking up a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Hope & Healing for Your Breast Cancer Journey. It will be a book that you want to share with everyone you know.
