I have known about HEXBUGS for a while now, but Little C was never old enough to play with them and I didn’t exactly understand what they were about.  Well I got the chance to review these neat little robots and Little C and I have had a blast!  My husband even gets in on the action!  I can honestly say that there aren’t a lot of toys that we all enjoy sitting down and playing with together, but HEXBUG has changed that.

You may not know what HEXBUGS are so let me explain a little bit about them.  HEXBUGS are little robots that look like bugs and they fight against each other.  They sound very simple, but there is so much you can add.  We reviewed the HEXBUG Warriors Battle Arena and there are two different modes of play with these little guys.  You can choose Training Mode, with unlimited health, for scrimmages and testing purposes or you can play in Match Mode.  Once put in Match Mode, each robot’s Shock Sensor activates its Damage Indicator Light which changes colors from green to yellow to red and blinks more rapidly as its health decreases. The HEXBUGS can then be reset after each battle.  You can also outfit your Warrior with strategic combinations of mechanical weapons and armor to outmaneuver rivals.  It took us a little while to figure this out and actually Little C was the first to figure it out.  He started switching the HEXBUG armor around to see what/if anything would change.  Sometimes the battles ended up differently and sometimes they didn’t.  Nevertheless, Little C has enjoyed his new HEXBUGS and I love the fact that it is something we can build on.  You can extend the battle arena and add more bugs to fight.  Such a great toy that will last a long time.  This is also a toy that Little C can play with his nephew and they both have fun!

If you are looking for a gift that you continuously add to, then HEXBUG is the perfect Christmas present.  I have no doubt that your child will love their HEXBUGS just as much as Little C does.  For more information you can check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
