I think presents should be as unique and personal as possible. I don’t know about you but I am always more appreciative when someone gives me something that shows that they really know me and that they took the time and care to find something I would like. It doesn’t even have to be something big or expensive, it’s the personalized thought that matters to me.

If I had enough talent, I would try to create something myself but my artistic skills are somewhat limited. Fortunately, there are tons of great artists out there who create beautiful art pieces and it is now easier than ever to find them thanks to Redbubble.

Redbubble is an online art community and marketplace where thousands of artists share their work. Through Redbubble, you can get totally unique wall art, greeting cards, calendars, iPhone, iPod and iPad cases, t-shirts, hoodies and kids clothes. The variety of styles and design is incredible but here is a small sample of the products you can find:

What’s really nice is that when you find something you like, you can find out more about the artist, what inspires him, how he started creating artwork, etc. It gives the artwork an extra layer of personality. You can also create a free account and follow any artist like you do on Pinterest so you’ll know when they’ll add something to their portfolio.

You can easily find something that you like by searching using a keyword such as ‘flower’ or ‘portrait’ or a technique or medium such as ‘surrealism’ and ‘watercolor’. Redbubble gives you option to refine your search by suggesting subcategories (such as ‘girl’ under the portrait category) and by medium (photography, painting, digital art, etc) and color. You can also start your research by selecting the type of product you’re looking for on the left hand-side.

For this review, I received a gorgeous greeting card and 3 beautiful photographic prints as you can see below. I also want to add this each item was carefully packaged with a piece of cardboard and a sheet of protective foam and wrapped in plastic.

The greeting card is printed on 300gsm paper with a satin finish and the colors are crisp and bright.  I could have never found such a special design for a greeting card in a big chain store. I was surprised to learn that such a beautiful piece was done by a young girl who ‘likes to Photoshop’ as she explains in her bio.

As for the prints, they are printed on Kodak Endura professional paper. Prints come in 4 sizes: S, M, L, and XL which are then trimmed to fit the dimension of the image. You have the option of a lustre or metalic finish. The lustre finish which is what I received, has a fine grain pebble texture. Each print is absolutely stunning. You can tell that they use high quality paper that will last.
