My dad’s side of the family does gifts for kids by not wrapping anything and just putting all the gifts in a big pile. Each child draws a piece of paper from a cup that has a number on it, and whoever gets #1 picks out a toy. Then the child who got #2 picks one and so on until each child has a toy. Then once each child has picked something, we start over until all the toys are gone. Most of the items are rather small/cheap so the kids get one or two regular sized gifts and then a few small things like a box of crayons or something. This year, I put the Toy State Road Rippers Bubble Driver Street Sweeper into the “ring”.
My nephew Drew who is 2 wasn’t sure what to get at first and was looking at everything very seriously. His mom saw the Bubble Driver and picked it up to show it to Drew, asking him if he wanted it. She pushed a button to turn it on and Drew squealed, did a quick “happy feet” like dance and excitedly took the bubble driver into his arms and back to his seat. He sat trying to play with it inside of it’s box until all the other kids had taken turns and ti was once again his turn to pick another toy. He refused to pick anything else because he was so intent on playing with his bubble mower so my sister had to pick out his other toys for him. We took it out of the box for him and hid the bubbles seems how we were playing inside. We didn’t have batteries for the remote but he didn’t even care he was thrilled to use the toy using the button on the truck.
I talked to his mom a few days after the party and she said that he has continued to play with the truck each day. He still hasn’t been given a chance to use the bubbles seems how it’s winter and they don’t want the bubbles to be used inside but it’s a blast even without them. He does love to blow bubbles though so I’m sure once it warms up outside he’ll love playing with it with the bubbles as well. At around $30 it’s nice and affordable and if your child is anything like my nephew they’ll be thrilled with it.
From the same line, road rippers also has a bubble driver ice cream truck. Like the street sweeper, it comes with a remote control and is for kids ages 2+. It also can be used with or without bubbles and with or without the remote control. The remote only has one button but it can be pushed forwards or backwards meaning it only requires minimal fine motor skills to control. I just got this one yesterday so I haven’t had the chance to show it to Drewie but I’m sure he’ll enjoy this one as well.
Connect: You can connect with Toy State on Facebook and Twitter.
Buy it: The only place I could find the street sweeper online for sale was Mr Toys Toyworld. The ice cream truck is on Amazon for $15.99.
