The Fiber of My Being is a website owned by Brandi who is passionate about helping out fiber animals as well as crocheting and knitting. Her website combines her passions as it discusses her rescue animals as well as her current craft projects. She also has an online store where you can purchase her yarns, spinning fibers and more. While I love meeting people who are passionate about their crafts, I’ll admit to not knowing much about Fibers so instead I’ll turn this blog post over to Brandi:
Applebee’s Acres – The Fiber of My Being started out in 2009 as a fabulous fiber animal rescue farm to feed my own spinning and fiber addiction. A year and 30 fiber animals ( that produced far more fiber than I could spin in my lifetime) later I decided to become a fiber and yarn enabler.
I run the rescue and now do adoptions as well. All fibers and yarn are hand processed by me proceeds go to help feed and care for the our rescued fiber animals. The yarn in this giveaway is a superwash merino, nylon, stellina blend. Handyed by moi and in new colorway for Valentine’s Day called Venus for the Goddess of Love. This yarn is fingering weight and great for sock or shawl knitting. It is machine washable and can be dried on cool setting or dried flat. It is sumptuous blend of superwash merino, nylon and gold stellina (a non-metal fiber) that gives it a wonderful glitter effect. The skein is 438 yards plenty for a pair of socks or shawl. This yarn retails for $24.78 and is pictured below.
While this particular type of yarn is not yet listed on her site, it will be in the near future so keep an eye out for that.
