Organic products are definitely the new “craze” when it comes to food, and it’s a great, healthy trend. I try to stay organic when it comes to the food that I eat, but sometimes that can be hard to do.
Navitas Naturals makes it easy to introduce healthy, organic food into your diet. They sell a wide variety of organic, Non-GMO, powders, pastes, and seeds. I got to try out these products:
Chia Powder, Freeze-Dried Coconut Water Powder, Pomegranate Powder, and Cocoa Powder.
The Freeze-Dried Coconut Water Powder was something I’d never seen before. It’s coconut water in powdered form. You simply put some in a glass, add water, and you have coconut water!
It was super easy to make. It stirred into the water perfectly and tasted just like coconut water I’ve had before. I added some ice to make it cold and enjoyed it by itself. More and more people are learning the benefits of coconut water, and this is a great way to have it. The small bag doesn’t take up much space, and you don’t have to worry about drinking all the coconut water before it goes bad. It’s also much greener than buying bottles of coconut water that you then have to throw away.
I also really liked the Pomegranate Powder. This is freeze-dried pomegranate in a powder form. I love pomegranates, but they only come around once a year, so I never get to enjoy them long. This is a great way to enjoy pomegranate flavor all year long, and get the health benefits of them all year long.
I really liked mixing my pomegranate powder into plain greek yogurt:
It gave the yogurt a yummy pomegranate flavor, and added antioxidants, and vitamins to the yogurt. The powder was also especially good in smoothies. It just didn’t mix well with juices, or anything too watery, as it would form a bit of a paste.
The Chia Powder was something I didn’t know too much about, but it was easy to learn about them on the Navitas Naturals website, where they have information on each product. Chia seeds are a good source of protein, omega fats, and fiber. It’s great to use as a thickener in smoothies, or as a flour substitute. I made a cranberry chia gel with mine. Chia seeds absorb water, and make a gel. If you use fruit juice and mix it with the chai seeds, it makes a fruity gel.
The gel was pretty tasty. I added it to smoothies to make them thicker. You can also use it on, or in yogurt, or as a dessert-type topping.
The Cocoa powder was also great. Quality cocoa powder makes such a difference when you use it in baking. I made some brownies with the cocoa powder (although I did not get any good pictures of them), and they turned out much better than when I made them with store bought, lesser quality, cocoa powder.
I also used all the products together to make a smoothie. I took some frozen bananas, fresh strawberries, and added pomegranate powder, the chia seed gel, some of the coconut water, and a little bit of cocoa powder.
It turned out delicious! My fiance slurped his down in just a few minutes. I’ve made some since, with different variations of fruits, and powders and they’ve all turned out great.
Overall, I really liked the powders. I also loved that the Navitas Naturals website has tons of recipes that you can go through. You can even select the specific powder you have, and see a bunch of recipes using that powder. It gives you a lot of inspiration as to how to use your powders.
