I love makeup. I spend a lot of time putting it on when I go out, I love looking up tutorials online. Whenever I visit family, they always want me to do their makeup. However, while I love makeup, it can also be hard to find good, quality makeup. I have sensitive skin, and lots of makeup makes me break out, or irritates my skin. Some mascaras even make my eyes water.

Painted Earth Skin Care and Cosmetics is a line of all natural skin care and cosmetic products. One of their slogans is “don’t sacrifice health for beauty.” I received these items to review:

I received Painted Earth Eye Fusion Baked Mineral Eye Shadow in Lavender Fusion, Perfect Every Thyme Baked Mineral Foundation in Dover Beige, Boo Boo Gel, Mineral Baked Beauties in Dolce Vita, Shimmer Powder in Chocolate and Lemonade, Baby Hint of Mint Lipgloss in Mint Hush Pink and Mint Cupid, Mineral HD Concealer in Light, SuperWear Gel Liner in Mystic, and LashLuxe Mascara in Onyx.

The really unique item is the Boo Boo Gel.

It’s a natural and organic product that you can use on cuts, scrapes, bruises, you name it. I tried it on my eczema on my hands. It almost immediately relieved the pain from any split open cuts, and it helped them heal a lot faster. Among the things I tried it on, one was a scratch from my dog. Here’s a picture of the scratch the day after I used the Boo Boo Gel.

Normally, the scratch would be much puffier and much more red at this point. I was actually quite surprised by how well it really did work. The scratch had healed much better, and faster than it normally would have.

The makeup I received from Painted Earth I also really enjoyed. The eye shadows were really pretty, and blended well on my eyes. The Baked Mineral eye shadow had a nice subtle color, that could easily be made more pronounced if you just added more. The shimmer powders were a bit more dramatic, and nice and shimmery. The concealer really did its job, covering up any blemishes and the blue under my eyes. The concealer also blended really well, and was a nice shade, it worked even on my pale skin. The lipgloss was really nice, and I liked the mint scent. I also really liked the blush. It was really subtle, which I love in a blush. I hate when blush is really harsh. With this blush, you can get a nice delicate hint of pink on your cheeks.

My two favorite makeup products were the gel eyeliner and the mascara. The gel eyeliner went on really easily. You don’t have to press hard at all to get nicely lined lashes. It also blended out well, if wanted to make a smoky effect, but it did not smudge. I often like to extend my eyeliner out from my eyes, but I rarely do this with an eyeliner pencil, as it always smudges. With this eyeliner, it didn’t smudge at all. I also really liked the mascara. It was not clumpy, and it worked well on my eyelashes. I’m incredibly pick when it comes to mascara, so this surprised me the most.

Here is me wearing the makeup above. I’m using the lavender eyeshadow, the concealer, mascara, eyeliner, blush, and the lipgloss in Mint Cupid. I am, however, using my own foundation and setting powder. I have very short, thin lashes, so this is me, even when mascara is working really well.

And here is me on a different day. This time I’m wearing the shimmer powder in chocolate (a great color for people with blue eyes), and using the lemonade shimmer powder as a highlight color. I put a bit more blush on this time, and I’m wearing the lipgloss in Mint Hush Pink. I am again using the concealer, eyeliner, mascara, but my own foundation and setting powder.

Here’s a bit more of a close up, with flash. Sorry for the shot up my nose, but I really liked how well you can see the shimmer powder, and how shimmery it really is in this pic.

Overall, I really liked the makeup. They’re definitely products I enjoy using and have added to my usual makeup routine. They never made my skin feel irritated, I did not break out when I wore these products. The mascara did not make my eyes water. If you have sensitive skin, like me, you should really try these products out.

The only thing I did not like was the Perfect Every Thyme Foundation, but only because it was too dark for me. I received the lightest shade offered. I tried it on, and loved the coverage, and the feel of the makeup, but it was just too dark for me. If you have very pale, ivory skin like me, this foundation is just too dark. That is why I did not use it in the photos. I did however use the concealer, and it was pale enough.

My friend, who is not as pale as I am, tried out the Perfect Every Thyme Baked Mineral Foundation in Dover Beige and she really liked it. She said it did not crack or flake, like other mineral makeup, or powders have done in the past, and it lasted all day. She really liked the coverage, and it was a great match with her skin tone. Here is a picture of her with the foundation on:

Looks pretty good, right?
