Until recently, my hair went well past my shoulders, to around mid back. I had gotten in the habit of using one towel for my hair and one for my body, because if I used the towel for my hair it would be sopping wet and wouldn’t do any good for drying off the rest of me. However, I didn’t like using two towels every time I took a shower. So when I heard about the turbie twist, a special towel designed for drying your hair, I was definitely interested in trying it out. I knew that it was shaped to fit your hair, so there wasn’t all the excess bulk, and that it was suppose to be super absorbent because it’s made of microfiber. I had no previous experience with microfiber but I figured that as long as it was as absorbent as a regular towel, it’d be worth a try. I cut my hair to about shoulder length right before the turbie twist arrived for review, so unfortunately I can’t talk from experience about using this with really long hair. However, I know that for my shoulder length hair it is amazing. I’m usually really particular about not reusing towels at all, we use towels once and then wash them. However, with the turbie twist it doesn’t seem to get the wet towel smell as quickly, and I like to use this as often as possible so I hold off washing it until it’s been used a couple of times. The turbie twist is thinner than a traditional towel and it’s also smaller in size so it doesn’t feel heavy on my head or strain my neck or shoulders. There is an elastic loop that you pull the twisted end of the turbie twist through so that the turbie twist stays in place much better than a towel as well. I don’t like the feeling of water dripping down my neck or back, or wet hair being against my back so I put this on as soon as I step out of the shower. Overall I really enjoy my turbie twist and I plan to pick up a few more so that I can have one clean to use everyday. They are sold at CVS and bed bath and beyond. They retail for just 4.99 so they are a great price for a stocking stuffer for teens or women.
