Chicken soup for the soul books are well known for being emotional. Some stories are about love, friendship and having babies. Others are about death, dying, depression and tough times. While I enjoy most all of the chicken soup for the soul stories that I’ve read, the ones that are the most helpful tend to be the ones about sad or tough times. I think it’s fair to say that most people look back on middle school as being one of the tough parts of their lives. It’s awkward, uncomfortable and difficult even if you fit in and have a decent home life. For kids who struggle with friendships, and don’t have a good support system at home the middle school years can be plain awful. I remember thoroughly enjoying preteen chicken soup books when I was in middle school, and now they released a brand new one for preteens. The stories cover crushes, fitting in, embarrassment, divorce and more. Chicken soup for the soul just for preteens would make a great gift for preteens in most any occasion.
