Growing up, we never had a dishwasher. When we moved into our first apartment, it didn’t have a dishwasher either. So when we moved into our current apartment and it had a dishwasher, I was very excited. I didn’t know anything about dishwasher detergents, but I assumed they were all the same. So when we got groceries I grabbed a box of generic powder and brought it home to try in the dishwasher. I ran it once and when our clear glass dishes came out, they looked like they had spend the last 10 years in a chimney. They were so cloudy you couldn’t even see through them at all! So, I did some internet research and decided to try out a rinse aid. That improved the cloudiness by maybe 15%, but it was still awful. Everything I read online said that the results I was getting were to blame on hard water. I tried several other brands, rinses, etc and some worked well enough that we could still see through our glass dishes, but we would have to rinse the dishes before putting them in, and if the food was caked on we’d have to actually scrub them before they went in. To me, if I have to spend time scrubbing the pan before I put it in the dishwasher, I might as well just finish scrubbing it clean. So, I mostly gave up on using the dishwasher. When I was offered some finish quantum to try out, I was excited but hesitant at the same time. Turns out, it works better than anything else I’ve tried. It gets our dishes clean while leaving our glass dishes clear. The only dishes that it doesn’t get 100% clean is pans that have been used to bake a casserole in, or other similar situations where the food is baked on or really stuck on there. I don’t have to rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher which saves a lot of time. I have noticed that it’s pretty easy to find coupons for finish products as well, which is important for me because I love saving money.

I usually use a liquid/gel detergent. I haven’t tried any of the tablets out there. This sounds like a good one to start with.
