Man it’s taken me forever to get this last post up from our Ohio trip. The last day of our trip we got to spend at Cedar Point. I’m sure most of you area ware of it, but if not it’s an awesome amusement park in sandusky, ohio. When you’re from Michigan it’s kind of the place to go for end of the year field trips, band trips, etc. I had the opportunity to go a few times as a kid through various groups I was a member of, but I never went. I’m a wuss. I mean, I only have a handful of fair rides that I am willing to go on. So I always assumed I wouldn’t have any fun at cedar point because the rides are even bigger there.
Truth is, there’s really something for everyone at cedar point. There are massive roller coasters to please people like Ryan who is a serious thrill seeker. But, there are also rides that I feel comfortable going on. In fact, there is even an area designed for small kids. I was surprised at the amount of teeny kids we saw, and the amount of strollers that could be found in every direction. I had no idea that cedar point catered to kids as young as toddlers.
We were given some special treatment and lead around with a guide who let Ryan & other people in our group try out all the big coasters without waiting in line. I personally didn’t ride on any, as I’m a wuss but Ryan rode each one. Just released this year was the WindSeeker which is essentially a big swing that goes up 301 feet! He also road on the top thrill dragster, the mantis and others. He definitely got his fill.
We also were able to check out one of the live theater shows which was really cute and the room was air conditioned, which was a welcome break from the hot humid weather. The play was cute and it was a great way to rest our feet for a few minutes while being entertained.
We also got to check out the PINKS restaurant. They sell hot dogs, sausages, etc. The hot dogs were really yummy and the restaurant has a really neat history as well. It was started as a large pushcart in LA and has been in the same place for over 71 years.
There is so much to do and see at cedar point that you can’t possibly fit it all in on a single day trip. There is soak city, which is a water park plus challenge park where you can parasail, do the rip cord and more. We’ll definitely be going back to check out the rest of what there is to see!

We go to Cedar Point every year, and we all just love it. We didn’t get to ride the new swing though…inclement weather the day we went. It sounds like you had a nice time. Thanks for the share.
have not been to cedar point since 1992. I’m sure a lot has changed since then.
