hamper toteWe live on the third floor of our apartment. We have a community laundry room which is in the basement, meaning I have to carry my laundry down four stories of steps. I’ve always found the small, circular laundry baskets to be frustratingly small because unless you heap them full, they don’t hold an entire load of laundry. Yet, the rectangular ones are really awkward to carry, especially when you have four sets of steps to get down. To make matters worse, the dryers have a mind of their own. Two almost never work, and the third works about 75% of the time. Needless to say, I’ve found myself carrying wet loads of laundry up to hang in my apartment several times because the dryer decided not to work and i’m out of quarters. Wet laundry is really, really heavy. So I’ve tried several laundry baskets and hampers in the 14 months or so that we’ve lived here, and my favorite yet is the hamper tote from ORE originals . The hamper tote is basically what it sounds like. It’s a huge tote, measuring 30 x 10 x 21 that has 3 compartments for storing laundry. There are handles on the side of the tote that allow you to carry it easily over one arm. The tote is made out of nylon canvas, which is nice and thick and sturdy feeling. The straps are thick and durable feeling as well. The dividers between the compartments are ridged, so they don’t bulge out like a typical backpack or other fabric bag would. The compartments are sized perfectly for a load of laundry. So when the compartment is full, that means you have 1 load of laundry. When empty, the hamper tote doesn’t stand up well by itself, but once you get an outfit or two into the outside pockets it stands up pretty well. The side has a pouch which is great for holding quarters, box of fabric softener sheets, etc. It’s not quite bit enough to fit my small, 32 load liquid laundry detergent bottle. This ore originals hamper tote has made my laundry day so much simpler than it was in the past.

This is a handy item. I am lucky enough to have my laundry on the same level I am, so I don’t have your problem. The bag however would be very handy when we travel, for laundry, keeping items separated in the car, I can think of lots of good uses for it. Thanks for the review.

  • This would come in very handy for me. I tend to throw clothes all over my room, and this seems like a great problem solver for that :p
