Xia-Xia are designer hermit crabs from an island far away. The have beautiful interchangeable shells and each have a tiny friend waiting inside. Their are four Xia-Xia to choose from: Bimini she loves to strut her stuff in different shell fashions. Trinidad loves to dance. Turks is sweet and bubbly. Tobago is always dancing to the Xia-Xia samba. There are many different styles of shells to choose from.
Xia-Xia also have three different Playsets: Rio de Trio Village- “with funk colorful décor and a bonus of three rooms, Xia-Xia can skitter scatter back and forth through the set.”
Copacabana- “a perfect place for Xia-Xia to scurry and slide, this Playset even connects with the confetti Cottage so kids can build their own Xia-Xia world!”
Confetti Cottage- “an adorable home for Xia-Xia, the Confetti Cottage even doubles as a carrier so kids can take Xia-Xia on the go, and it connects with the Copacabana Playset.”
I have never seen a toy quite like these. We had a Xia-Xia party with girls and boys (some guest not in photos for privacy). Our Xia-Xia party guests really like that you can play shell dress up with them. They also enjoyed racing the Xia-Xia. Each guest had a favorite Xia-Xia. However, the group had one favorite Playset, it was the Confetti Cottage. They each wanted one!
Xia-Xia are best played with by older kids (3 years and older due to chocking hazards) on a large flat play surface. Xia-Xia crawl forward and backwards when you tap their claws.
As a parent, I liked that these were a unique toy that captured and held the kids attention. However, I am not a huge fan of the tiny (size of a dime or smaller) pieces. We had some guest less than 3 years of age so as soon as I saw the tiny pieces, I tucked them away. We also had a couple of the Xia-Xia and Playsets break.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
