I’ve gotten really into using coupons now, and right now I use a folder system that works pretty well. However, most couponers use 3 ring binders with baseball card dividers in them. They cut out each coupon and put them into the baseball card dividers. Of course, that takes a ton of cutting. Even though I don’t use that method, I often use 30 or so coupons per trip to the store, and using scissors for that long can hurt my hands. Plus, I sometimes find coupon inserts in the store and find a coupon for an item that I was planning to purchase so I want to use the coupon that day, but I don’t like carrying scissors into the store as they don’t fit well into my purse. The slice safety cutter is a very small tool that has a blade on the bottom end. Similar to a utility knife, you just slide it across the surface of the paper (or whatever you’re cutting) to cut. The blade is nice and sharp and this has worked great for cutting out coupons. It’s tiny and has a small hole on the end so it can easily be slid onto a keyring and carried wherever you go. The Safety Cutter – Great for couponers is great for people who want to clip coupons in the store. It works on some items thicker than paper as well, as I’ve used it on thin plastic food storage bags such as the bag that our soft taco shells came in. I also tried using it on the harder plastic electronics case…you know, those ones that are nearly impossible to open. The blade was short, so it couldn’t slice all the way through the plastic as the plastic was thicker than the blade, but I was able to make one slice, and then go back over the cut to get all the way through. It’s a handy little tool and would make a great stocking stuffer.
