On Toby’s Terms by Charmaine Hammond was an outstanding and uplifting story about a trouble dog which had some very unique traits and the journey that brought a family and dog together. This story made me realize that there is so much more the the pets in our lives. It really does not matter if you are a human or an animal, purpose is so important. Not only having a purpose but having people who will love you know matter what and support you in finding what you need in the journey of life. Early in the book, Toby, the dog causes all kinds of trouble in the home of Charmaine and Chris, a couple who had no children. It got to the point that they were gonig to give up because they just couldn’t really communicate with Toby. Once they all realized that Toby had a troubled past and found the right people to give Toby a purpose, the whole world turned around, not only for Toby but for their entire family and many people that they have come in contact with. This is not your typical dog story and I would highly recommend it. There were times while reading this story that I laughed and other times when tears filled my eyes.
I hope that you will visit Toby on his website, blog or facebook.

My favorite pet story is Marley and Me. It hits home for me because my labs had some similarities with Marley.

At one time my husband and I had 4 dogs- a St. Bernard, a Rottweiler, a Doberman and an English Bulldog. They all slept in the waterbed with us. I would go to bed first and the dogs would join me and when my hubby came to bed, there was no room for him! He tried tricking the dogs- calling out “want a treat?” so the dogs would jump off the bed and he would jump in. But that only worked for a day or two, lol! We learned to adapt- and try to hang on whenever the dogs jumped on- so that we wouldnt be bounced off from the waves!
