Vortex Toothpaste is a new color changing toothpaste created by retired Dentist, Dr. Wright. Vortex Toothpaste was designed to slowly go from pink and blue colors to a purple color, thus encouraging kids to brush longer. The average kid only brushes their teeth for seven seconds, not nearly enough time to remove hidden plaque. Studies show that children need to brush their teeth for a minimum of two minutes to properly clean.

It was very important to Dr. Wright that Vortex Toothpaste contain natural ingredients. He specifically didn’t want Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) a common ingredient used to make products foam. SLS can be dangerous and has been linked to causing mouth sores.

For our review, we received a tube of Vortex Toothpaste. As soon as I opened the package, my girls were excited to brush their teeth and watch the toothpaste change colors. They were disappointed that it wasn’t purple foam but, I explained to them that we don’t need toothpaste to foam to know that it’s cleaning our teeth. How does Vortex Toothpaste taste? According to my girls it tastes just like grape candy; they seem to really enjoy this flavor.

I have one concern with Vortex Toothpaste, as we use it I am noticing that my girls toothbrush bristles are starting to take on a purple color. If Vortex Toothpaste is leaving color on their toothbrushes, is it leaving it on their teeth?

You can find Vortex Toothpaste on their website, Facebook, and twitter pages.

I would love to have this product on hand when our grandchildren have their “cousins” sleepover nights at our house.
