My 11-year old and I were sent the My Friendship Bracelet Maker to review together. When I was a tween, friendship bracelets were all the rage….just not with my friends, I guess. I have worn a few in my day, but never made one from scratch, so i thought it would be a challenge for the both of us to learn together.  My biggest problem is that I am not highly dexterous and it made it difficult for both of us originally. Since I have a hard time taking instructions from diagrams I was happy to find step-by-step videos on their website to help us learn how to do this more simply. After a bit of frustration and trial and error we were both able to come up with bracelets that we were proud of.

We travel a lot during the summer by train, plane, and car, and I think this will be a neat diversion for us while on the road. I like how compact it is and how many different colours of thread came with it.  I think it is neat that it has a little drawer under it and the whole thing will fit in my daughter’s backpack and weighs hardly anything. Now that we have both got a knack for it, this will be a great way to spend time together and now my girl can make bracelets to give to her friends in all their favorite colours when we come back from adventuring around the country. It will show she has been thinking about them over summer break.
