Chances are if you have a young child, you have heard of the Bob Books series. In case you haven’t, let me tell you about one of the best teaching tools I have found. Bob Books were designed to be a step by step reading program for young children. Each step builds on the last one and introduces your child to a new set of skills needed to learn how to read. By doing it this way, your child doesn’t get overwhelmed with all the new information and has the time to process it and develop confidence in their new abilities.

Bob Books also designed their books to be appealing to children. They are just the right size for their small hands. The graphics and stories are presented in a way that engages the child and holds their attention.

For our review, we received My First Bob Books-Alphabet and two of the NEW Bob Books Early Readers called The New Puppy and Cupcake Surprise!

In the My First Bob Books- Alphabet book set, there are 12 books introducing the 26 letters of the alphabet. These books are great for showing your children letters, letting them hear the sounds that they make, and teaching them some objects that begin with those letters.Cheyenne just turned 3 years old. She sees her sister reading and wants to read as well. This was perfect timing for us to receive the Bob Books Alphabet set. We are working with Cheyenne on identifying letters, the sounds they make and how to write the letters. She cherishes her new “big girl” Bob Books!

NEW Bob Books Early Readers are 32 pages long and have a full colored story. These books are great for children who already know basic reading skills and are ready to move on to more complex words and sentences.Savannah, now 5 years old, started reading with Bob Books when she was about 3.5 years old. She has mastered ALL of the Bob Books so I was super excited when I learned that they had come out with Early Readers. She was so excited to get these books that she sat down and read the whole book. Although I was proud that my preschooler was reading kindergarten- 1st grade books, I was also a little bummed that they were not challenging her. I credit Bob Books for her reading ability because they taught her the skills to that she needed in order to read so well at such a young age.

As Savannah graduates form her Bob Books, we look forward to using them to teach Cheyenne how to read. Bob Books have really made it easy for me to teach my children the skills they need to learn how to read.

You can find Bob Books on their website, facebook, and twitter pages.
