Little C has loved fairytales for a very long time now.  Jack in the Beanstalk is one of his favorites and we have several different versions of it.  In all of the versions we have, the giant is always a little scary and mean.  Sometimes I find myself changing the story just a tad so that Little C doesn’t get scared.  There are several other stories that he likes as well, such as Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel and so on.  These stories were a part of my life as a child and I wanted to pass those along to my son.  I knew how scary and unfriendly some of the characters could be, but I really never thought much about it as this is how I heard the stories as a child.  That is until I was introduced to My1story.

I was sent a copy of Jack’s Beanstalk: Jack and the Magic Beans and Lil’ Riding Hood and Wolfie: I Love Cake! from My1story.  I was intrigued by the idea, as I really thought they might be a little bit young for my 3 almost 4 year old.  I was pleasantly surprised to see the books and read the stories.  They are totally age appropriate and Little C loves the new rendition.  These are his go to books when he is in the mood to just sit on the couch and snuggle with mommy.

My1story has taken classic fairytales and turned them into a friendly, loveable story with amazing illustrations by Jamie Rodriguez, a former Walt Disney Company character artist.  The big bad wolf has been transformed into an approachable wolf cub and the giant from Jack in the Beanstalk has been turned from a mean, scary character to a young, small, friendly one.
