I live in perhaps the best part of Oregon; we are about 45 minutes away from desert, mountains or beach. We have everything from large booming cities to small struggling agricultural communities. We are the grass seed capital of the world.  Oregon has something to offer everyone.

One of our favorite places in Oregon is Sunriver. Sunriver is beautiful in every season and offers a whole new playground each season. We visit Sunriver at least once a year for annual family reunion. When we are planning a trip to Sunriver the first step I make is contacting the extremely helpful staff at Sunset Lodging. Sunset Lodging has a variety of vacation rentals; from intimate studios all the way up to 8 bedroom luxurious vacation homes. Each home is furnished and has unique appeal. For us, part of the fun each year is discovering a new home and enjoying its amenities. This year, we stayed in Central #7. It was a wonderful vacation home with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths; we enjoyed its cozy charm.

While we were in Sunriver we had many adventures.

We biked and hiked on the trails around our rental home, watched wildlife, enjoyed the kids activity center in the Pavilion, shopped the local stores, took a tour at Goody’s Chocolate and Ice Cream factory, and celebrated the grand opening of the NEW SHARC (Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic & Recreation Center) Facility.

I asked everyone what their favorite part of our family reunion was, unanimously it was SHARC!

This indoor and outdoor water park is F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S! On the outside they offer year round slides, rock climbing walls, picnic areas, bocce ball, basketball court, amphitheater, tube floating area, 2 water slides, a kiddie pool, swimming pools with different water features, lap swim,  hot tub, and a grassy area for lounging and sun tanning.

They also have a café, indoor swimming pools with kid’s water features, basketball, and a hot tub. There was so much stuff, I am sure we missed some of it.

Thanks to Sunset Lodging our family reunion was a blast and our time went way to fast! I am counting-down the days until our next visit.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
