GAMEWRIGHT is a company that was founded in 1994 by four parents. The four parents had something in common and that was that their kids liked to play board games. Their mission was to create games that were not only fun and entertaining but also educational.
To date, GAMEWRIGHT has won more than 150 awards for the over 50 games that they have developed. Add to that all of the happy and satisfied customers and I think you’ll agree that GAMEWRIGHT accomplished their goal.
For our review, we received GAMEWRIGHT’s Elephant’s Trunk game. This game is geared for preschoolers around the age of 4. Two to four players can enjoy this 15-minute game.
When we played the game, we children ranging in ages from 3 to 57. The object of the game is to help Emmet (the elephant) pack his trunks for vacation. The first player to pack all of his/her clothes wins….but there’s a little mouse just waiting to mess up your packing plans.
One of our players ( 5-years old) said he thought the “game was fantastic, perfect, and he liked it.” He played with Grandpa and ended up winning two games. Although there is some reading involved with this game, it was very easy for our younger players to understand the concept.
Elephant’s Trunk not only teaches youngsters their colors, patterns and fine motor skills but it also teaches them that sometimes things happen that are out of their control. This game teaches the players to not get frustrated and give up, just hang in there and get the job done.
The game pieces are durable and well made. They are large enough that they won’t get sucked up by the vacuum cleaner and they’re brightly colored so are eye-catching to the younger audience.
GAMEWRIGHT is on facebook and twitter.
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
