Overland Equipment started in Chico, California in 1981. They may not have had a lot of fancy equipment back then (one sewing machine and a “fancy pair of red scissors”) but they had a great idea and a commitment to producing a quality product for their customers. Evidently, they hit the mark because they’re still going strong over 30 years later.
Overland Equipment produces bags (the term “purse” just doesn’t do the item justice in my opinion) that are rugged yet very attractive. You will be so impressed when you see and feel an Overland Equipment bag and you will be even more impressed when you use it on a daily basis…I know I have been.
I have purses/bags/clutches/and small suitcases that I carry around with me depending on where I’m going and what I’m doing or going to need while I’m out so I’m not new or inexperienced when it comes to this subject. I’m mentioning this to you so you know you can trust me when I tell you how much I love my Overland Equipment Bag that I was given to review.
For my review, I received the Auburn bag in Coffee Bean/Golden Yellow color. According to the tag that was on the bag, it is made with 840D junior ballistic nylon and 1580Dballistic nylon in the highest wearing areas. The interior has 210D ripstop nylon. I have no idea what any of this is but it is durable….I can tell by the way it feels and by looking at the stitching. This bag is made to last.
One of the things I like most about the bag (and there are so many) is the magnetic closure. I don’t have to remember to snap something or zip it….I just get what I want and drop the flap and it’s closed…nothing can fall out. ..and did I mention the fleece-lined cell phone or sunglass pocket?
Don’t let the exterior size of this bag fool you. It may not look that large on the outside but after you open all of the compartments and start stuffing them full of all of your necessary items, you will be amazed.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
