Since living on my own I’ve owned three different Vacuums, two of which were new and one which was used. The vacuums that I used prior to the Hoover Windtunnel Airtight Bagless Upright Vacuum seemed pretty good as they would remove all visible crumbs, dust, etc from my carpets so I was pretty happy with them. However, once I experienced how incredibly powerful this vacuum was, I was shocked as it’s definitely in its own category that is nowhere near the others.

Since trying bagless vacuums, I can’t imagine using anything else. It’s so much easier to simply empty the canister into the trash when needed. Plus, it’s cheaper overtime.

Seems how you can see right through the sides, you’re able to watch as the vacuum fills up with “gunk” that previously was living on or in your carpet. I was shocked at how much stuff came out of the carpet in areas where the carpet appeared perfectly clean. It was obvious that this vacuum was removing more than my previous vacuum was able to get at. What a gross thought that my old vacuum was leaving dirt and dust in my carpet that I couldn’t even see!

The suction of this vacuum is incredibly strong – it’s advertised as a vacuum that never loses its suction and it’s true that you really have to force the vacuum away from the carpet to cause it to lose suction. In fact, I found that the suction is a little too strong because when I try to pull the vacuum backwards, my carpet raises up off the floor. So instead of vacuuming frontwards and then backwards, I have to do a continuously forward motion and just turn around while going forward, to recover an area.  The vacuum doesn’t have a height adjustment tool for changing between hard wood and carpet or different heights of carpet which I believe to be the cause of this. Even when moving frontwards, I feel the need to use both hands on the vacuum so that I can control where I’m moving – that definitely speaks for how strong the suction is!

I like that the the cord doesn’t automatically retract like other new vacuums because the other vacuum that I bought new had an automatic cord rewind that quit working after about 6 months and then, because it had no external hooks for winding the cord up, it was a mess to try and decide what to do with the cord when not in use. Plus the cord is an impressive 30 feet long so you can vacuum more space in your home without having to unplug.

The handle of the vacuum can be adjusted using the 7 indents in the handle to adjust based on your height or perhaps just to shorten the handle while its being stored. The handle completely detaches so that it can be used along with the end of the hose, making the hose/wand combination 12 feet long so that you can clean up high.

I also like how the attachment pieces lock into each other for storage purposes, making it a 3 in 1 piece that allow you to get in crevices such as around baseboards and another part of the tool works for use on furniture. As I mentioned above, the vacuum handle detaches from its main position so that it can be attached to the hose and then you can attach the pieces so that they can be used from a long distance (up to 12 feet). The hose is very compact while in place but stretches out accordion style revealing its transparent sections.

The filter is easily removed and can be rinsed with plain water which is really convenient. The canister is easily removed so that you can dump it, and includes a top handle so it’s easily carried.

The vacuum has multiple recline settings, the lowest one allows you to lay the vacuum completely flat so that it is easier to get under chairs and other furniture without having to use an attachment hose.

At 12 pounds, the entire vacuum is more lightweight than other options (in fact it’s the lightest full size vacuum that hoover makes!) so it’s easy to pick up for dragging upstairs. Overall I love this vaccum for it’s innovative features, lightweight body and impressive power.
