I believe my little sister was about 3 when she first started playing with Polly Pocket sets even though the recommended age is 4+. I was a Polly pocket lover as a child, back when they were miniature, so I thought it was neat that Polly was making a come back. For the last 4-5 years or so, my sister has continued to collect and love her Polly sets. For the last few years they have continuously been one of her favorite types of toys. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if she would say that they are her absolute favorite toy as I think she has gotten more play time out of Polly sets than any other type of toy. I have been impressed with how long she has continued to hold an interest in the same toys as well. It’s not easy to find a toy that is interesting to a child for 4+ years! When she first started playing with them she struggled to get the clothing on the dolls so we’d constantly be brought a doll and a dress and asked to redress Polly which we did over and over each day. Even 4 years later, she still plays with her Polly sets very regularly and I like knowing that if I get her a Polly pocket’s set, she’ll definitely get a lot of play time out of the set and it will be a good value because she gets so many hours of play out of each set.
I was recently sent a Polly Pocket Hangout House Playset for review as well as a Polly Pocket Stick N Play Room set. When I asked Jorden if she was interested in helping me test out some Polly toys for my blog she squealed which I took as a yes.
The hangout house is neat because all of the furniture items included have small suction cups that allow the pieces to remain in place even if the house is moved around. This makes the set great for traveling with because you can just stick all the pieces to a flat surface in the house and feel confident that you won’t lose any pieces. Even Polly’s shoes have suctions so that she can be stood up (or even hang upside down!). The set includes furniture for a bathroom, kitchen on the first and second floors. The third floor includes a bed that can be flipped over which turns it into a swimming pool! On the left side there is a twisting pole that allows an elevator to spin around and go up and down at the same time. The right side has a balcony with a swing underneath it. The walls on the first and second floor flip over to allow them to convert from a library type room to a living room or hangout room with a TV, while the other wall flips from a daytime scene to a nighttime scene. These small details that convert from one pretend play scene to the other allow the house to be used in tons of different pretend play scenarios.
The set also includes a Polly doll which is great for girls who are just starting their Polly collection and need a doll (or girls like my sister who has tons of dolls already but is always excited to get more!) as well as a cute doll. My sister loves to use small toy cats and dogs with her Polly sets to pretend that they are pets, so I love that this set includes a dog. Jorden has already gotten several hours of play out of the set and loves using the set alone as well as with her other Polly toys from her collection.
The Polly Pocket Stick ‘n’ Play Lea Patio Party set which is great for playing along with the house as a nearby outdoor scene. The set includes a polly, an iguana, a grill, 3 chairs, an outdoor grill and small accessories. The items in this set all have the same small suction cups as the playhouse so the items can easily be stuck to the house or other flat surfaces. I like this new feature because it allows my sister to set up scenes without having them disturbed by every small movement but also because they make the toys much easier to tote around without having to worry that pieces will be lost. My sister even realized that Polly can stick to the window in the car so she can play while on the go!
Jorden was really impressed with both sets. I like how affordable they are when you consider how much play she gets out of them.
Buy it: You can find polly pocket stores in tons of brick and mortar stores including Walmart and Target or through online retails such as Amazon.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel Polly Pocket. I received a product samples and a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.

I never knew they came in such big sizes now. I still remember Polly pockets. Those were so adorable!

I missed the Polly Pockets craze when I was a kid; I think they mostly came out by the time I was too old for them. But I am sure we’ll be seeing plenty of the playsets in our future once Bubbles discovers them!
