America’s police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel have been depending on Blauer for their uniforms and personal protection gear since 1939. They are known for quality, long lasting clothing that not only protects its wearer from the elements, but from the wide array of chemical and biological threats today’s first responders face.

Today’s EMS personnel must have uniforms that are not only comfortable and professional looking, but also provide protection against bodily fluids and blood. The uniforms must have a multitude of pockets, so medical supplies and gear can be reached easily: a life may depend on it. Blauer’s cool EMS gear makes the wearer look like the professional they are!

On the other end of the spectrum, the ever growing number of hazardous chemicals and biological materials traversing America’s highways daily and the ever present CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) threat from terrorists means the standard hazmat suit may no longer provide the protection our first responders need.

With this in mind, Blauer now offers its Homeland Defender Multi-Threat ensemble made of GORE CHEMPAK fabric. It is an ultra-barrier fabric that is certified to NFPA 1992 and NFPA 1994 Class 2 standards. Suits worn with an approved SCBA system (no chemical tape is required due to the suit’s rubber to rubber mask interface), provide the wearer with protection from chemical warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals.

Another feature of the Bauer multi-threat suit is its outer coating of NOMEX IIIA. The suit’s outer shell absorbs water from inside the suit, and then releases it, without affecting the suit’s integrity. This function reduces the amount of heat trapped in the suit and provides a cooling effect as the water is released through the outer shell.

Current Hazmat suits are bulky and provide the user with a limited range of motion. The Homeland Defender multi-threat suits are form fitting, allowing the user much greater mobility – perfect for confined space operations. The suits are also re-usable, as long as they are not contaminated.

Blauer Is continually striving to improve the clothing it provides for the country’s first responders, whether it’s daily apparel or the Homeland Defender Multi-Threat suit, your comfort and safety is foremost in their mind.
