It’s that time of year when school is in full swing and everyone gets really busy. Between conferences, Halloween, fall sports, picture day, and just the everyday grind of life it can be difficult to find time to prepare a homemade meal each night. I know that most parents won’t have time on Halloween night. Here, kids who live in the country get off the bus around 4:45. In cities where trick or treating starts at 530 it can be a major rush to get everyone fed, into their costumes with makeup finished, etc.
You could order delivery but you’d pay way more than you need to. The law of pizzaplicity states that you can get TWO Digiorno pizzas for the price of having just one pizza delivered. Whether you’re feeding just your family, or your kids’ friends too – or even throwing a big party it makes sense to get more for less.
When I recently went to pick up my Digiorno pizza for this review, I was surprised to compare it with other brands and see how close in price they were. Even my local supermarkets store brand frozen pizza’s were really similar in cost, some of theirs being more than some varieties of Digiorno. Last week my supermarket had Digiorno on sale for $3.99 which made it cheaper than store brand.
We tend to like most of our food really well cooked. Most people say that we overcook our food. So I left the pizza in the oven a few minutes longer than the box suggested and it came out perfect (to us, anyway). I am impressed with how thick the pizza is in the self rising crust types of pizza. Easily twice as thick as other brands I’ve tried before. While cutting the pizza, the cheese was dripping off of the knife and stringing apart as I pulled the knife up. I LOVE pizza that doesn’t skimp on cheese. Overall, we were really pleased with the quality of the pizza. Ryan is picky about sauce and is often bothered by sauce that tastes too much like tomatoes but he really enjoyed the sauce because it is a bit spicy.
