When it comes to choosing gifts for our 3.5 and almost 6 year old Daughters, my Husband and I try to choose items that are both fun and educational. We were blessed with Daughters who LOVE doing school workbooks. This year, I discovered a new company called Brain Quest.
In 1992, Brain Quest began selling Question and Answer trivia card games. They were fast-paced and gave children a curriculum-based challenge. The new Brain Quest game was a success with children, parents and teachers. Over the years, Brain Quest added Workbooks and Write & Erase sets to their product lines. All of the Brain Quest products cover a variety of subjects. They have products for several age groups starting as young as 2 years old.
For our review, we received the Brain Quest Kindergarten and 1st Grade Workbooks. Both Workbooks have activities, games, and lessons. They also come with a mini-deck of their Brain Quest Question and Answer card game, stickers, a poster and an award of completion.
Kindergarten Workbook covers- ABCs & 123s, phonics, spelling & vocabulary, shapes, colors, patterns, sorting & matching, time, money, science, and more! It has a suggested age of 5-6 year olds but I found it to be perfect for my preschooler. She knows her letters and numbers, basic math, and can spell some 3 letter words. This workbook allowed us to start building on her knowledge of time and money.
1st Grade Workbook includes- phonics, spelling & vocabulary, reading & writing, language arts, sequencing & sorting, math, shapes, measurements, time, money, social studies, science, and more. It has a suggested age of 6-7 years old but it fit the educational needs of my kindergartner. She just tested at a 2nd Grade reading level…she LOVES reading and writing. With this workbook, we can work on social studies and science lessons with her.
These Brain Quest Workbooks did exactly what I had hoped for. They allowed the girls to gain confidence on the skills they have already mastered and challenged them in the areas they need to work on. We will continue buying Brain Quest products.
We have a cross country trip coming up next year. I will be packing lots of Brain Quest products in the girls’ carry-on bags!
Brain Quest is on facebook and twitter.
Who are you buying Brain Quest for this holiday season?
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I love giving educational gifts to children. I think it is important to help foster creativity, learning, and growing in our children through games, books, and activities.

Looks like a great way to keep kids busy during Holiday travels!
Oh I would have LOVED this book as a kid. My son seems to be following in my footsteps so I’ll definitely have to bookmark this for when he’s old enough!
