My 5 year old nephew has two older brothers and for years now he has enviously watched them with building sets making tanks, cars, ships and more. He has lots of building sets that are geared at his age, but most of them are really open ended and don’t come with instructions for building anything in particular, which is what he’s the most interested in.
Eitech building toys are unique for a few reasons, one of which being their beginner sets (ages 4+) come with instructions to build recognizable “stuff” instead of just towers and such. They’re also unique because they aren’t just brick shaped so they give the freedom to create way more complex creations.
We were sent the Eitech Beginner 10-Model Construction Set for review. I was really happy with the quality of the pieces – they’re plastic but seem really sturdy which is great for young boys like my nephew who aren’t exactly gentle on their belongings. The instructions included include lots of pictures making them fairly easy for kids to follow even if they aren’t great readers. I do think that at age 5 it’s best to have your child paired up with an older child or adult to help out but at least for my nephew he was happy with how much he could do on his own. I also appreciate how this set lets you create ten different models instead of just one thing so that it will get more than one or two times of use like so many sets that only let you build 1 thing do.
I also like how the Eitech sets are a bit of an introduction to science and simple machines. Their sets for older kids seem really neat too – I like how they are made of steel instead of plastic. They have a section of solar sets too. I can even see some dads enjoying this sets, making them a great bonding tool. I’m all for combining education and play and Eitech sets do just that.
Buy it: You can purchase Eitech online at the Eitech website, Amazon and others.

I love how complex and unique they are. In a few years when my sons get older I know they are going to love these!

This looks like something my son would love when he got older!

My son likes these but often the pieces are hard to grasp. At least they turn into a fun joint project. Plus, he gets a huge sense of accomplishment when the building is completed.
