February has been National Pie Month and I would like to introduce you to a delicious new cookie pie! Barbara’s Hand-Made Cookie Pies was created by Barbara herself.   She grew up with her Nana and her mom baking wonderful home-made, hand pressed, hand-decorated cookies.  Barbara’s dream was to introduce the world to the delicious goodness that she grew up with and honor her mother and her Nana.  Barbara managed to take the exact same recipe and turn in not only into to a cookie, but a cookie pie.

The crust of the pie is made with the fabulous butter cookie dough that Barbara grew up with.  Each of her pies are inspired by a family member or friend.  Barbara offers quite a few pies, but a few you will find are Almond Joyful Cookie Pie, Caramel Chocolate Cookie Pie and Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Pie.  Sound delicious?  They are!

I received the Apple Caramel Cookie Pie and a sample of some of Barbara’s gourmet cookies.  I opened the box, not really knowing what to expect.  I had seen the pictures online, but you know that some things can look much better online.  Well, my pie showed up in perfect condition and looked mouth watering as did the cookies.  My son was also very excited.  I unfortunately was not able to eat any of the Apple Caramel Cookie Pie.  I informed Barbara’s Hand-Made Cookie Pies that I was allergic to nutmeg, which is an ingredient in the pie.  I was willing to have my husband eat the pie and let me know what he thought, but Barbara was nice enough to send me another pie that I could eat.  I was able to keep the Apple Caramel Cookie Pie and my husband absolutely loved it!  He said it was better then any apple pie he had ever had and that is a big deal as apple pie is his favorite.  I was able to eat some of the cookies with my son.  We both loved them.  I thought there might be a few that Little C didn’t like, but he loved every single one of them.  The new cookie pie I received was the Raspberry Chocolate Cookie Pie.  I love chocolate and I am a big fan of fruit so I was super excited.  It looked just as delicious as the Apple Caramel pie.  The Raspberry Chocolate Cookie Pie was absolutely perfect.  The raspberries weren’t tart at all and the chocolate was perfect.  In my opinion raspberries and chocolate are the perfect match.  I can’t tell you how delicious this pie was.  Another unique aspect about the pie is that you don’t have to have a fork to eat them.  They aren’t messy at all and I love that.
