If you’re headed to a baby shower, Evenflo’s Bebek collection is a great line of baby products to consider. Whether the mom-to-be is planning to formula feed, pump and then bottle feed or is unsure if she’s going to breastfeed or bottle feed, the Evenflo Bebek bottles, pacifiers and cups are suitable because they are designed to closely mimic the breast, with nipples that have a soft, wide base.
I was surprised to discover that I could sense the difference in the Bebek nipples compared to other bottle nipples. They are really soft and give much easier than the rest. Because these bottles are shaped more like mom, they bottles would also be great to try with a baby who is being weaned from the breast. The nipples are designed to quickly vent air bubbles to keep them from getting into baby’s tummy and causing gas, stomach upset or colic. The nipples are available in three different flows – slow for 0-3 months, medium for 3-6 months and fast for 6+ months. The 2oz bottles come with slow flow, the 5oz bottles have medium flow and the 8oz bottles have quick flow, and you can purchase extra nipples separately as well. The nipples of the 2oz bottle is wider and slightly less flexible than the nipples on the 8oz bottles as you can see in the photo above. I personally have noticed younger babies getting overwhelmed by certain bottles when the flow is more than they expect, which is scary to watch if they begin to cough or gag. In the past, I’ve just switched bottles all together when this happened, but it’s nice to know that Evenflo has noticed the varying needs of babies of different ages and has adapted their nipples to better care for babies at various ages. The bottles and cups are BPA free and are safe to clean in the top rack of your dishwasher, making cleaning a breeze.
The bottles are offered individually in 2oz, 5oz and 8oz sizes and in two packs for 5oz and 8oz sizes. With the bottles being rather wide, I was curious to see how they would feel to hold compared to other bottles. The 5oz and 8oz bottles in particular are much wider than other bottles I’ve seen, but they both curve in, so they have a mid section that is significantly skinnier than the rest of the bottle, and this indent makes them comfortable to hold.
The Evenflo Bebek pacifier is designed to allow healthy oral development with soft edges to minimize the impact of the pacifier against baby’s face to reduce redness. They come in 3 sizes, for babies 0-3 months, 3-6 months and 6+ months.
Evenflo has also assembled two sets, one being the Evenflo Bebek Starter Set that includes a bottle in each of the 3 sizes, a small pacifier, a pacifier holder and bottle brush.
