I have been making a real effort to provide healthier snack options for my two young daughters.  Traditional snacks that target today’s youth are not always healthy. I always have fruits, veggies, string cheese, etc. readily available to them. However, sometimes they just wanted that crunch that only a chip or cracker can give. They were turning to chips and crackers that were loaded with ingredients that you can’t pronounce, deep fried, and had an absurd amount of calories and sodium. I had reached my limit; I couldn’t sit back and watch them snack on these unhealthy products. I cleaned out our pantry and told them that I would replace them with better snacks. The first products I wanted them to try were Mediterranean Snacks.

For our review, we received Mediterranean Snacks Rosemary Herb Lentil Crackers, Garlic Parmesan Lentil Chips and Sea Salt Lentil Chips.

Mediterranean Snacks are loaded with protein, iron, fiber and vitamin B1. They have been baked, NOT, fried. They are trans-fat free, certified gluten-free, low in calories and I can pronounce all the ingredients!

Lentil Crackers have a wonderfully authentic rosemary flavor. They have a nice light airy texture and big crunch. They are delicious!

Lentil Chips are made with lentils, garbanzo and adzuki beans. They have a different texture that I was expecting; it’s almost like they have small air pockets. I liked these with my homemade black bean hummus.

Mediterranean Snacks are great right out of the bag or served with your favorite topping and dip. They have also been kid-approved.
