While wall decals have been popular for several years, only recently have I noticed the popularity of car decals and laptop decals. In fact, most of the time when I see decals on laptops they are on Macbooks. I don’t really know why that is, because most laptops can have decals added on them. I recently heard about The Decal Guru which is a website that sells decals – but they specialize in car decals, laptop decals, and tablet decals. I was able to check out their Monsters Macbook Decal. I don’t have a Macbook, but all of the decals at The Decal Guru can be used on just about any flat surface, so I was able to use these on my regular PC laptop. In fact, my laptop has a slight texture to it, but it worked fine anyway – it just has to be fairly smooth not super smooth.
They are used the way that any other decal is – you use a squeegee to rub over the surface of the decal to make sure that it is probably adhered to the clear side. Then you remove the white backing, and apply the decal slowly and evenly to the desired surface. You use the squeegee to go over the clear surface again, to make sure that the decal is firmly stuck to the desired surface and then you remove the clear plastic and the decal is in place. Something that is neat about the monsters decal that I ordered was it has a bunch of small monsters. I could have applied them exactly as they were, but I cut the monsters apart before I ever removed the white backing. This allowed me to place one monster at a time. I chose my favorite monsters to create a line along the bottom of my PC, instead of putting them all over. I have several left over, so I could have added them to my laptop or I could use them on my walls, car or most any other relatively flat surface. This might be neat for kids because you can save money by ordering one set and then dividing the monsters (or other decals) into groups so that each child gets to place a few where he or she wishes.
There were 13 colors to choose from, but I went with violet seems how purple is my favorite color. They aren’t what I would consider a regular violet or purple – they have a definite blue tint. I feel like my laptop is much more personalized to me now, and if using it at a library, college or other social setting nobody would be able to confuse it for theirs now. I know that some people who have common car types will use decals to make their car stand out (no more accidentally getting into someone else’s car at the grocery store!) and they have tons to choose from. Some are funny, some are cute and some just show off your interests.
Most decals at The Decal Guru retail for either $11.99 or $12.99.
