This is like a recipe I make except I add chopped pecans. I will have to try them this way and maybe also adding the optional chocolate chips for a variation.

They certainly look good! I like to have a little pizzaz as well! I’m more of a really strong flavor person than a subtle flavor person. Husband is the opposite so this recipe would be perfect for him. Thanks for sharing!

I agree. Perfect for a little girl’s tea party and a snack for young girls. The recipe is easy enough. I would add some peanut butter chips.

I can remember being 12 and getting into baking, especially b/c my older sister liked to bake so I would help. I like these meltaways plain like this, you get that buttery goodness without any distraction!

I just LOVE this. To this day I have such a fear of the kids in the kitchen. We had a house fire a few years back that started with only me boiling water for spaghetti but it caused the vents above to get hot and grease dripped on the burner. This recipe is easy enough that I think with a good attitude I would be ok to watch them make.

These look good.I always enjoy seeing kids in the kitchen it isnt just about baking! he is learning to follow directions, measurements and youre right it certainly is home ec! I think besides plain, or with chips these would lend themselves well to a bit of fanciful frosting, or a dusting of powdered sugar. They are dainty, bu I bet awfully good.

I think they could use some lemon zest and that could possibly add the pizazz that you are looking for but I add lemon zest to just about everything lol.
