Great tips on dental treatment. I relay appreciated all the tips you gave. My Minnie is a Pug-Min-Pin. She’s a riot. She doesn’t have a very dark muzzle like a full breed Pug. We had friends that had a older Pug (never altered) bad move for the dog, but he was 14 years old. Than they got a Min-Pin. They never thought that he would breed with the young female Min-Pin. Well they did. She had 6 puppies. We got the runt of the litter. The rest were given to close friends as well.
Minnie,is a very sweet girl & yes she can be stubborn at times. She will be 5 years old in April.2023. We love her so so much. She does love to Velcro herself to my husband as well as me when I’m not feeling well.
I’m usually bouncing around most of the day so she is usually with my husband, He is her main man though.
Minnie won’t go to sleep in the bed until,my husband Bob goes. Lol thanks for your devotion to your Pugs.

My brother and sister-in-law adopted an older pug in its later years. From what we know she wasn’t well taken care of before and as it’s important for all dogs to have good hygiene and activity apparently, it’s even more important for pugs as I’ve learned. She lived around 10-12 years estimated but The Vet thought she could have maybe had another couple of years had she had a better life before she was adopted. My brother and sister-in-law did as much as they could for her in their later years, but all that vet neglect added up and so doing things to prevent problems can be very beneficial. Great article!

I did not realize that Pugs had so many problems. Heck I didn’t realize that dogs needed dental care. I watched a show on TV last week about dog dental problems

I have never owned a pug but I think they are super adorable and the ones that I have seen are so friendly and sweet. It is good that there are alternatives like chews and the water additive when it is difficult to brush their teeth.
