As some of you may know, I have become a real fan of Jillian Michaels. I appreciate her direct, tell it like it is, approach to health and fitness. When you start a new journey toward living a healthier life, it can be a daunting task. They are so many mixed messages as to what foods you should and shouldn’t eat, how much water to drink, what supplements to take, what exercises to do and how often to do them. One of the first things I did when I started my journey last summer, was to conduct some of my own research on the computer. I needed to find someone I could trust and connected with. I wanted someone knowledgeable in a variety of areas. I found myself going back to Jillian Michaels website a lot…so much that I bookmarked it and she became my “go-to-girl”!
I was recently given the opportunity to read Jillian’s new book called SLIM FOR LIFE. Inside this book were the answers to all the health and fitness questions I still had.
Jillian takes an easy approach into guiding you to make decisions that give you the best results for you. She discusses nutrition, fitness, lifestyle, and more. Readers get to choose tasks that they feel they can easily incorporate into their lives. Each task is assigned a point value. At the end of the book Jillian helps you calculate your points and then explains how you can get better results by making a few small changes. The tasks described in the book are simple and affordable. I found that I was already doing some of them and just hadn’t yet realized their benefits. Some were easy for me to add into my daily routine and others were going to be a bit more of a challenge but still “do-able”. As I progress on my journey, I can go back to the book and find new tasks to add in that weren’t possible for me when I read the book the first time.
For me, this was the book that made everything “click” into place. I feel like all that information I had been given over the years, finally makes sense. Now I know what to listen to and what to let go of. Now, I have a direction and clearer goals. Now I have my own Jillian Michaels to turn to when I have a question.
I strongly suggest reading SLIM FOR LIFE if you are on a journey towards healthier living.
Jillian Michaels is on facebook and twitter.
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I like the way the book seems to be set up. Almost like a mix of a “choose your own adventure” and a magazine quiz. Glad to see that it’s been helpful to you!

I will have to check this out. I will be honest Jillian scares me because she is so all or nothing on the biggest loser.

I met her once and she is so nice. I have one of her exercise video games and it is very good. she is tough but it is very doable.

I have so many of her DVDs that I still go back to. I do have one ebook she wrote a few years ago. I have to rip out her exercise articles from my fitness magazines when I see them featured. I like her boxing DVDs the best.

I am on the fence with Jillian Michaels. I have read so many bad things about her weight lost show.
I would like to read this book. Sounds like there is a lot of useful information. Thanks for sharing.
