I must admit, I’m a sucker for a good margarita. However, it wasn’t until recently that I learned just how many calories a margarita can have, let alone how much sugar is in it. This is the case for most drinks you order at a bar, or make at home, they are just chock full of calories, and sugar.
Slimrock Bar Mixers are mixers that contain 99% natural ingredients, and 1/5 the calories of normal mixers. They use much healthier sweeteners like agave nectar, and stevia, in place of normal sugar. They offer a range of mixers, from Cucumber Ginger Citrus, to Guavapolitan.
I got to try the Mango Margarita mixer, seen here:
I was quite surprised by the taste. I’m pretty picky when it comes to margarita mixers. There are a lot that I just plain do not like, but I actually did like this margarita mixer. I really liked the mango flavor with it, and it was sweet and tart at the same time, like any good margarita. While it didn’t taste exactly like a “normal” margarita, one chock full of sugar, it still tasted really good, and I didn’t have to feel bad about drinking it! That was definitely my favorite part, I could have my margarita, and not feel like I was indulging in a bunch of wasted calories.
Here’s my margarita:
I prefer my margaritas on the rocks, as shown, but it was also good blended. I mixed mine with tequila, but you could mix it with rum, vodka, or even have it as a virgin drink!
I looked up other margarita bar mixers I’ve used in the past, and they were around 110 calories per serving, and had many unnatural ingredients. Many have high fructose corn syrup, or other unhealthy, unnatural sweeteners and preservatives. This Slimrock Mango Margarita mix has only 30 calories per serving. You could have three of these drinks before they’d equal even one of the other brands!
I would definitely recommend trying out these mixers, for anyone who’s watching their calories, or just wants to feel less guilt when indulging in their favorite drink.

It’s been a while since I’ve tried a mixer but it was so sweet and obviously had too much sugar included. I’d go for this healthier version.
I’m like you and am really picky when it comes to mixes. I cannot stand the Motts one. I’ll have to see if I can find this and give it a go.
