Is it just me or can it be really difficult to find a special gift for Mother’s Day? There are the ‘classics’ but who wants to receive flowers or chocolates year after year? I personally try to find a present that will stand out, not because I want to show off, but because I think my mom deserves something unique since she is unique to me. This year, Parker Pen gave me the idea I was looking for!

I was offered the possibility to review Parker Pen’s IM Premium Metallic Pink Rollerball Pen. Of course, Parker pens don’t need an introduction anymore. They’ve been around for over 125 years and are well known for their quality, durability, and stylish designs. I was already familiar with the brand but it was my first time trying a pen from their IM Collection.

The IM Collection distinguishes itself by its high quality metal finishes and its modern styles. The collection comes in many different colors: Matte Black, Metallic Brown, Chrome Metal, Deep Gun Metal, Blue, and Metallic Pink. There are also 3 writing types to choose from: Fountain Pen, Rollerball, and Ballpoint.

I find the color and satin finish of the Metallic Pink Parker Pen both beautiful and elegant. It’s a timeless shade of light pink that would be equally appreciated by a college student and a grandma. There is an intricate rectangular design engraved on the length of the pen and the cap which gives the pen a contemporary flair. The pen has a nice weight to it and is comfortable to hold. It is neither slippery nor too bulky for delicate feminine hands. The FreeInk technology makes for a smooth and consistent writing experience. I really like how it glides on the paper and the ink flows uniformally. I prefer the feel and ink flow in a rollerball versus a ballpoint. I also find it easier to use than a fountain pen so for me a rollerball was the perfect choice.

When you purchase your IM pen, it will be nicely packaged in a lovely gift box with a Quink Refill for Rollerball with black ink. You could also get a blue ink Quink Refill separately if you prefer. A Parker pen would make a great Mother’s Day gift because it is distinguished and elegant. It’s probably something my mother would never buy for herself because it’s a bit of a luxury item but she would definitely appreciate receiving one. That’s what I’ll get her this year!
