Thank you to Stokke for providing me with a Tripp Trapp High Chair, free of charge, for review. These are my own honest opinions.
There are so many different baby products on the market now days that it’s hard to know what is necessary and what isn’t. One piece of equipment that I find necessary is a high chair. However, not all high chairs are made equal. The chair we had for our first child eight years ago was terrible. It was big, bulky, made of plastic, and so deep that when she sat in it as an infant, the tray came up to her chin. Our daughter was over two years old before she finally “grew into the chair” and could sit in it with her arms on top the tray. It was so bad that we never even used it for our second child at all. My husband finally made me get rid of it because he was tired of tripping over it, never mind that we never placed our children in it. So, there we were. Pregnant with baby number three and no high chair to speak of. That’s when I came across Stokke.
I was so excited when I found the Tripp Trapp chair. It seemed to be the answer to all our high chair woes. However, my husband was not sold yet. He remembers how excited I had been back when I was pregnant with our first and picked out (what I thought was) the perfect chair. So I had to convince him that I was now a seasoned mom with experience in gear and had done a ton of research this time. With our first, I was just so excited that I went to the local big box store and pretty much chose the first one I saw. This time, I knew without a doubt that the Stokke Tripp Trapp was “the one.” So he sat with me at the computer one night while we looked at them some more. I had been giving him all the facts about the Tripp Trapp: The chair will grow with our child, it is made to custom fit each child since it’s completely adjustable, it will slide up to the table so we can have family meals, it has a harness, and it’s not plastic. Finally, he agreed we could order one.
I was so happy when it came. We ordered the Walnut Brown for our first Tripp Trapp. It was gorgeous. They have a great line up of different colors and stains so you can choose what fits your decor and personality best. Not to mention, it did solve all our high chair woes. We were no longer tripping over high chair legs. Yeah! No more stubbed toes. Plus, because it was completely adjustable, we were able to have our child at the perfect height for each stage he was at during any particular time. Since he was our smallest most petite child, this was great. It’s been 2 years since I first purchased that Tripp Trapp and we have added three more Tripp Trapps to our family since.
So when I was given the chance to review another Tripp Trapp, I jumped. Everyone who comes to our home comments on our chairs and loves them. One of the comments I have heard about the Tripp Trapp multiple times is that they must be from another country because they are so well made. This is true. Stokke is a Norwegian company that was founded Alesund in 1932. Stokke’s vision is “In the best interest of the child.” They develop products that will help stimulate a child’s ongoing development while aiding in bonding between parent and child with products that allow increased eye contact and interaction. They believe in creating unique long-lasting products that are completely functional for families while promoting support and wellbeing. Since 2006, Stokke has focussed solely on children’s products.
The Tripp Trapp is very easy to assemble. It comes in a modest box which is nice to see. Many times when I get a package, the item inside is only half the size of the box. The assembly process takes less than 20 minutes for my husband from start to finish. Keep in mind, that this usually includes a lot of “help” from a 2 year old and 5 year old. I chose a black chair this time because my sister has always wanted a Tripp Trapp and this one was going to go to her. She doesn’t have any children but liked the idea of such a sleek chair for when the nieces and nephews came over and the black color looks so sophisticated. She didn’t want anything that screamed high chair and the Tripp Trapp (in any color) fits the bill. Her favorite thing about the chair is that she can sit on it too. However, she is really excited that it will be able to adjust to multiple sizes since the age range of her nieces and nephews is from infant all the way up to age 8. She loves her new Tripp Trapp and is so happy that she finally has one now.
Stokke also carries an accessory line for their Tripp Trapp Chair. This includes the Baby Set, Cushion, Tray, and Table Top. The cushions are so adorable and are on my wish list of what I would like to get for each of our four chairs. The Art Stripe is my favorite since it would match all four colors we have.
All in all, I feel that this is a great chair. I can’t think of anything I would change on this chair. I would love to see Stokke have packages or specials where you can add accessories to your Tripp Trapp at a discounted price but even at full price, I feel that this is a worth while investment. How many other chairs can you give a child and it will last them a lifetime. This would make a great desk chair as your child grows and you can even send it to college with them. How many high chairs can boast that? Don’t make the same mistake I did and purchase a chair that will be outgrown in 2 years. Invest in a product that will be functional for a lifetime.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

That is just amazing! I’ve never seen a high chair that could function as an actual chair before! It’s so stylish too!

I really like the color of finishes they offer and that clean and simple lines of the chair and that they can grow with your child. Clearly they’re fabulous if you have so many of them!

Oh, I love the Tripp Trapp and I love how you have the different colors at the table! I think these are great because they look like actual modern furniture and don’t stick out as something for baby.
