We love music at our house. We always have the radio on a family friendly station or a kids CD playing. I was sent a copy of Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights new CD “Bandwagon” to review. The first time we listened to it, we were downstairs doing our daily activities, chores, reading, and free play. While some CD’s get the kids up and running, this one leans more to the soothing side. This is not a bad thing. It’s nice to put in some fun relaxing music that we all enjoy and doesn’t cause complete chaos. We enjoyed this CD and it will be going upstairs in the bedrooms for a place in the nighttime rotation music box. Our children listen to music every night after we read stories, pray, and tuck them in. The final thing we do before leaving the room is turn on music. It seems to help them fall asleep quicker and is a nice sound barrier in case the baby starts crying as we try to settle in for bed. I am excited to have Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights CD Bandwagon in our collection.
Joanie’s future became obvious to her family at the young age of 2 when she grabbed a microphone and sung the entire song “Tomorrow” from Annie. She had an amazing and big voice for such a tiny little person. Her future continued as she became a musical theatre major in college and then managed a Manhattan Gymboree location where she was able to sing and dance for children all day long. While she enjoyed doing her music at the club scene, Joanie discovered that making music for children was wonderful and even more fun. Joanie’s career continued to progress and has turned into five full length CDs: “What A Zoo,” “I’m A RockStar,” “City Kid,” “Challah Challah,” and “Soul From My FootSteps,” and now she has just released her new CD “Bandwagon.” You can also purchase Joanie’s City Kid Live DVD on her site.
You can connect with Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights on Facebook and Twitter. One lucky Emily Reviews reader will win their own copy of Bandwagon. Giveaway is open to the US. Giveaway ends June 18, 2013.
I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
