My kids love to pretend.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked to tie a blanket around their shoulders for a cape so they could go pretend to fly or be a superhero.  If you’ve ever had to do this, you know that 99 percent of the time, the blanket falls off within about 60 seconds.  Superfly Kids has come to the rescue.  They have created super hero capes in multiple styles, sizes, and colors to fit every need.  Superfly Kids sent me one cape and I purchased a second because we all know that pretend play is even better with two people.  For our 6 year old son, I choose to order the Blue Superhero Cape with Silver Lightning.  This particular cape is the 30″ length.  For our 2 1/2 year old son, I choose a cape from Superfly Kids’s Sparkle Superhero Line.  This cape is 22″ in length.

First off, I was very surprised with how fast the capes arrived.  I ordered them on Saturday evening and they were in my mailbox on Wednesday.  Superfly is super fast.  My son even asked as we walked to the mailbox if his cape had come and I told him that he would have to be patient because it may take another week.  You should have seen the look of pure joy when he found out that it had, indeed, arrived already.

As soon as we opened the capes, we were impressed with how lightweight and soft they felt.  Both capes are made from 100% Satin.  They have a velcro closure at the neck.  I love that.  No more tying just to have to retie a minute later.  Even our 2 year old is able to put his cape on and take it off by himself.  Products that encourage a little independence is a good thing in my book.

Now to test.  I let the kids put the capes on and set them loose.  It didn’t take any prompting from me, as they jumped right into their superhero play.  Running, jumping, “flying”, and superhero moves all ensued.  It was quite entertaining.

Although my daughter was disappointed that we hadn’t chosen a more, what she considers, girly color, she decided to partake in some superhero fun anyways.  I have not tried washing the cape but the tag does say gentle wash, line dry.  So when the time comes to wash it, I plan on putting my washer on the slowest gentlest cycle it has.
