I became a fan of hookah while in college. Hookah is an elaborate pipe from which flavored tobacco, known as shisha, is smoked. As shisha is a tobacco product, hookah is only for adults 18 years of age or older. Smoking from a hookah pipe is a social activity in many other cultures, and is becoming more popular in America. Going to hookah lounges is a quite popular activity where I live, but it can be pretty expensive. It’s often cheaper, in the long run, to simply buy a hookah pipe of your own. I’ve owned hookah pipes previously that I purchased at local smoke shops, and they were all of very low quality, especially for the price. When I heard about Texas Hookah, and their quality hookah pipes, I was very excited to be able to review one.
I received the Amer Khalil Mamoon Hookah from Texas Hookah to review. Here’s the pipe and accessories right out of the box:
This Khalil Mamoon Hookah has a stainless steel stem. The glass base is very large, and sturdy, with a pretty red design. This hookah has one hose, and came with the beautiful elaborate hose seen in the picture. It also came with tongs, quick light charcoal, some guava breeze Fantasia shisha, and the Vortex Bowl.
The hookah was very easy to put together. It stands 30″ tall. When I saw the picture, and heard that measurement, I didn’t realize how tall that really is. This hookah does not need to sit on a table, it’s actually taller than my coffee table. Here’s the hookah put together:
The Texas Hookah Khalil Mammoon Hookah is easily the best made hookah I’ve ever owned. It doesn’t wobble at all, it’s incredibly sturdy, and the metal plate beneath the bowl is very large, and easily catches any charcoal that may accidentally drop. Once put together, it’s very air tight. The stem is stainless steel, so you don’t have to worry about it rusting. It’s simply very well designed. My previous hookahs don’t even compare.
The hookah also gives a great smoke. I’ve received a lot of compliments on this hookah, from everyone who has tried it. The stem has wider tubing, to allow for easier air flow. The base has a nice, wide opening, that allows you to put ice in the bottom very easily. I’ve used it quite a bit, and have liked it a lot. I especially liked smoking the Fantasia shisha in it. This particular hookah also comes in other colors. Here’s a stock image of the hookah in blue:
I also really liked this hookah hose. It’s an Egyptian style hose, and is very elaborate. Everyone that’s used it has really liked it. It feels great in your hand, and the long straight end makes it easy to set on the pipe. The hose also comes in other colors. Here are the various hose colors:
I also received the Vortex bowl along with the hookah.
The Vortex bowl’s unique design allows the shisha to heat up, without burning. It keeps the shisha moist, gets the most out of its flavor, and makes your shisha last a lot longer. The Vortex bowl definitely lived up to its reputation. I think it’s a must have for anyone who likes to smoke shisha. It’s far more efficient, really does make your shisha last longer, and makes it very hard to burn. With my previous bowl, the top of my shisha would end up burning after awhile, but the bottom, especially the middle, would stay moist, and perfectly fine. I always felt like I was wasting so much shisha with my old bowl. However, this bowl utilizes all the shisha, and doesn’t burn the top. It’s so much better!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hookah, and accessories. The Amer Khalil Mamoon Hookah from Texas Hookah is a true, quality hookah. There wasn’t a thing I didn’t like about it. The Vortex bowl is also a great accessory, something I’d recommend to anyone who has their own hookah. I have been beyond pleased with these items from Texas Hookah. I’m also very impressed with their prices. They’re very competitive, especially considering how great the hookahs are.
