Thank you to Brinks Home Security for providing me, free of charge, a Push – Pull – Rotate Exterior Locking Keyed Entry Knob for review.  All opinions are my own.

Brinks Home Security has now created a new innovative door knob. Their new Push – Pull – Rotate makes going through doorways much easier even if you have your hands full.  The idea behind this innovative knob is that you can simply push or pull the knob, even using your hip, arm, or elbow when your hands are full.  Of course, the knob also works by turning as well.  Check out the video to see this knob in action.

The installation was fairly easy.  My husband followed the step by step directions that were included.   He doesn’t usually do that but he wanted to make sure the knob got installed according to Brinks directions for review purposes.  It was straightforward and a fairly easy install.  From beginning to end was about 15 minutes.  That also included our handy little helper doing as much as he could as well.  The only tool that was needed for installing the Brinks Home Security Push – Push – Rotate Knob was a screwdriver.

The Brinks Home Security Push – Pull – Rotate Door Knob seems very heavy duty, more-so than any previous Exterior Locking Keyed Entry Knob that we have had in the past.  On top of that, it’s very appealing looking too.  As for the innovative push, pull, rotate options.  The rotating is just like any typical knob.  The push and pull options are a really neat feature.  We had a little trouble with it working quite right but with a few adjustments to our frame and trying some suggestions by Brinks, it began working more smoothly.  Brinks Home Security has been very helpful with giving us suggestions on what to try to get a better result.

Overall, we are happy with the Brinks Home Security Push – Pull – Rotate Knob and find it very handy to have other options besides twisting for when my hands are full.

This product is unique and I like that it has a stylish look as well.

  • very nice, I like the stylish look

  • What a cool idea – love how easy it looks to open one handed 🙂

  • Oh, I can tell you I would love a doorknob like that! I’m always trying to go through closed doors with hands full of laundry, or toys I’m putting back into the toddler’s room! Love this idea.

  • You can never be too safe – looks like a great product!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! On the KNOB style you can get into the house without any key! I work at one of the stores that sells this product (that is why I am afraid to post a review on the stores site that sells this product) and we discoverd that you just push the pin on the side of the handle (side with the key cylinder) and pull the handle off (how we get this unit apart to rekey the cylinder) and then just take needle nose pliers and turn the inside and your in the house, 1 minute tops. On any other lockset that we rekey you need to put the original key into the lockset, then turn it to get the handle off. NOT WITH THIS ONE. I am not sure about the lever style. Have to check that out when I go back to work and test that one.

    Thanks Jon,
I too have experience with similar removal techniques, and you brought back fresh memories. You could use the same technique to defeat several of the “cheap” locksets sold a few years ago. I liked the convenience, and was about to purchase 5 for my own use. Not now.

Push Pull Rotate Product  #23091-119 Too Bad Brinks hasn’t figured out a way to keep the handles securely attached to the posts that stick out. On the lock & deadbolt set I bought both of the screws came undone and I was left holding the handle in my hand once on the outside of the house in -25 degree temperature and once on the inside with my hands full to go out the door. The handles are only attached with  a short screw and you have to re-tighten them all the time. The deadbolt latch has a set screw that falls out (fell out twice on mine) sure they give you a spare but what happens is they disappear because they are so small. Found a replacement a the local automotive store that finally held. Took the thing back what a pain. E-mailed the company(Brinks} to complain and got attitude from a customer service rep. who stated to me they never have a problem with their locks maybe I got a defective part 3 of them in the same set?????????? Offered me a new set or parts for it. WHY WOULD I WANT TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT HASSLE ON A REGULAR BASIS????????????? He couldn’t understand why I was upset of course he’s in California and wouldn’t have a clue what-25 degree temperature is.
