Thank you Contigo
for providing me with products to review, free of charge.
These are my own honest opinions.
As promised, here is my follow up post on Contigo reusable water bottles and travel mugs. Click here if you missed my initial post so you can find out more about their products and innovative technologies before you read on.
In the summer, we travel quite a bit. We visit our family and friends more often, we do tons of activities, we camp, etc, which means that we spend a lot of time in the car. I often pack lunches, snacks and drinks for the road so we can eat and drink in the car or stop at a rest area for a picnic. This year, we relied on our 3 Contigo reusable water bottles and 2 Contigo travel mugs to keep us hydrated.
I am pleased to report that not only did we stay hydrated but we managed to do so without any spills thanks to the AUTOSEAL and AUTOSPOUT Technologies. With our combination of water bottles and travel mugs, we were able to bring a variety of beverages including water, juice, tea, and energy drinks. I never thought I’d bring 5 bottles and mugs with me on a road trip but I found we liked to have options.
I have to compliment Contigo on the design of their Randolph Stainless Steel Travel Mug. I don’t usually use travel mugs with handles because they are rarely designed with left-handed people in mind. There is typically only one hole in the lid and you’re only supposed to hold the mug in your right hand (unless you want hot coffee spilled all over you). The Randolph is different: the lid has 2 holes which means you can safely hold it in either hand. Since both my husband and I are left-handed, it’s a feature that we really appreciate! Of course, the AUTOSEAL Technology is a great bonus and for the first time ever, I didn’t have to worry about spilling my hot tea on myself every time we hit a bump on the road.
Even though they are not designed to be spill-proof when their spout is popped open, our water bottles with AUTOSPOUT Technology also proved to be great bottles on the road. It is very easy to pop and retract the spout with just one hand so as long as you remember to retract the spout when you’re done drinking, you won’t end up with your drink spilled all over you and the car. I was actually surprised to see that my daughter can also pop the spout open by herself on her Striker Water Bottle. I also like that I can protect the spout of her bottle under the spout shield because she likes to carry her bottle around like a ‘big girl’ and it would probably get very dirty if it wasn’t hidden under the shield.
The insulated bottles and mugs worked amazingly well to keep our cold drinks chilled even during hot summer days (yes, even thought the mugs are meant for hot drinks, I do fill them on occasion with cold drinks). I was surprised to find that the water in my Sheffield bottle was still fresh and cool even after I left it in the car for a whole day. It’s definitely become my go-to water bottle. I like the elegant stainless steel design and the spout that is kept clean under the spout shield. I can just throw it in my backpack without having to worry about spills or the lid getting dirty. It’s also a nice size (22 oz) and I don’t have to worry about refilling it a dozen times a day!
When I received them, I was impressed with the design and innovative technologies of Contigo bottles and travel mugs but now that I’ve used them many times on the road and during our summer activities, I can truly say that they are the best reusable bottles and mugs we’ve had. The AUTOSEAL Technology makes them spill-proof whereas the AUTOSPOUT technology means the spout of our bottle stays clean and protected until we pop it open. I recommend their insulated bottles because they are great to keep your drinks cool for many hours even on hot summer days.

I tossed some old drinkware that leaked and probably wasn’t even the new, safe plastic. I think it all needs replacing now and then too. These are fun colors.
my favorite (other than the water bottles) is the thermo ceramic anna 14oz desk mug. would hold a lot, is stylish and would keep my coffee warmer longer. thanks for such a nice and useful giveaway!
