The MC44 Lightweight Organic Cotton Ultra 2-Stage Mattress has exceeded my expectations already.  The first thing I noticed about the mattress is that it’s light.  With the word lightweight in the title, I knew it would be but it’s even lighter than I expected.  I always had a hard time changing the sheets on our old crib mattress because it was heavy.  It’s a breeze changing the sheet on Naturepedic’s MC44.

The next thing I noticed was a tag that read infant side on one side and toddler side on the other.  This tells me which side is made slightly firmer for infants and which side is slightly softer for toddlers.  Naturepedic heeds to this tailored approach to provide the safest mattress possible and taking a little added comfort into consideration for toddlers.  I like that the tags clearly show me which side is which.

The edges on the MC44 Lightweight Organic Cotton Ultra 2-Stage Mattress are heat sealed and waterproof which prevents moisture penetration.  This design is more hygienic because it prevents bed bugs and dust mites from dwelling in the seams or entering into the mattress through sew holes.  The whole mattress is made from organic cotton and is covered with a 100% polyethylene waterproof surface which provides the added non-toxic stain resistant casing to protect the mattress.  Naturepedic makes sure that all the individual materials used in the mattress are organic but they don’t stop there.  The finish on the mattress is certified organic as well.

I have been very pleased with the quality, features, and safety that come with the MC44 and I now have the peace of mind knowing that our children are sleeping on a great mattress.  Plus, I love that the lightweight feature will make those middle of the night bed changes much easier.
