These are my own honest opinions.
Halloween is one of my favorite celebrations, if not my favorite. Since I was little, I’ve always enjoyed choosing my costume with my mom, or even designing it myself, and getting dressed to go trick-or-treating with my siblings. It’s a tradition that I hope will bring my daughter lots of fond memories as well.
I know she’s still quite young and won’t remember much of what we do this Halloween but I know she’ll have fun dressing up and seeing herself on pictures when she’s older. For now, I get to choose what she wears and it was quite difficult to pick only one costume when I visited Costume Chik.
Costume Chik is a Canadian online store that specializes in costumes and accessories including make up and wigs. Even though they are based in Canada, they offer shipping to the US and many other countries. Check their shipping policy for more information.
I decided to go with a classic Toddler Fairy Witch Costume. I like that the design blends witch elements with fairy elements to make a cute and not-too-spooky costume. The costume includes a dress with puffy sleeves and multi-layered and multi-colored skirt and a hat with a matching ribbon. The black bodice and the hat are made of a velvety fabric.
My daughter, who LOVES dresses, fell in love with with one as soon as I took it out of its packaging to show her. She kept telling me ‘coot’ which is her way of saying ‘cute’ and she smiled the whole time she had it on. I have to agree with her, I do think she looks super cute in her fairy witch costume!
The only downfall is that there is nothing to hold the hat in place and of course, being the busy toddler that she is, my daughter likes to run around and move a lot so the hat doesn’t stay on her head very long… I think I might try to attach an elastic or a ribbon that would tie around her chin and see if that helps.
The sizing is perfect: I got the Toddler Small which is for 24 months to 2T knowing it would be a bit big because I wanted to make sure I could put a t-shirt or sweater underneath depending on the weather. As a bonus, my daughter will be able to wear it for a long time!
Overall, I would say that my daughter’s reaction to her fairy witch outfit says it all! If she’s happy with it, so am I. I’m pretty sure we’ll see this costume around the house way past Halloween.

Although product arrived as expected, I was unhappy with my purchase experience at costumechik because I ordered thinking I could return the item easily (as I was concerned it may not fit). The return shipping was 15$ with tracking number as suggested but I was shocked when I didn’t receive the full refund because the order now didn’t meet the 75$ minimum for free shipping so the charged me that too! My return overall cost over 30 dollars which was nearly half what the item cost. I think next time I’ll buy somewhere where the return is easier:(
